The Fyr Oil Lamp has been crossed over to the contemporary side with its shape and materials. It has a cylinder-shaped clear mouth-blown glass body that broadens out to a cone with a round base. The clear glass base makes it easy to see how much oil is still in the lamp so it can be topped up when needed. In between the base and tall body, there is a metallic surround made of aluminium brushed with zinc alloy. The lamp has a knob on one end that is used to adjust the flame and to hold the lamp at a tilt for the sake of safety when it is being moved from one spot to another. The oil lights up a wick that is housed in a small metallic cylinder that is at the bottom of the glass housing.

The Fyr Oil Lamp has a height of 30.8cm and a diameter of 15.7cm. Its kerosene capacity is 470ml.
